Hill House Boston United Program Overview
Hill House's Boston United is a travel soccer program for more dedicated soccer players looking to learn, compete, and advance their soccer skills. Teams will play against local town travel teams in the Boston Area Youth Soccer league (BAYS) during both the fall AND spring. Participation requires a significant commitment due to the travel involved, and the limited roster spots we are able to offer. Teams will be led by trusted Hill House coaches who will stay with the team for multiple seasons whenever possible.

United Practice Squad:
As a program, we are unfortunately limited to 1 team per grade for boys and girls due to lack of additional field space. The practice squad is for any players in grades 3-6 who want to be a long term part of the program but were not able to secure a game roster spot initially. The practice squad offers these players a full United uniform, participation in weekly Friday team practices, exposure to the skills being taught by coaches, and potential for game involvement on a rotating, equitable, basis as attendance allows. This way, practice squad players are keeping up to speed while also playing and leading their teams at in fall in-house leagues to apply these newly developed skills to prepare for next year's try-outs. Due to yearly attrition and eventual roster expansion (rosters increase from 12 to 16 by grade 5), these players stand a great chance (though not guaranteed) to make the game roster once space allows over time.
Weekly "Foot-Skills" clinic:
Held on Mondays in the fall and spring seasons, these clinics are open to all Boston United players and will be focused on ball manipulation and increasing technical skills. Every player will have a soccer ball and the emphasis will be on getting as many touches on the ball as possible while building up the complexity of skill each week. Each clinic will finish with small sided games where new skills will be encouraged to be used in a game situation. These clinics will be directed by United staff coaches.
United Goalkeeper Clinic:
For any current Hill House Boston United players interested in learning the unique position of goalkeeper, join coach Elbert before United Friday practices. Our clinic will focus on catching, footwork, distribution and much more!
Boston United will be entering teams into Futsal Leagues in the Boston area this winter. This is an additional and optional program. Girls will play games on Saturdays and Boys on Sundays. More information can be obtained from your team manager or Marshall Caldera. This is open to current United players only.
The Ebersol fields are home to United Soccer. Located right on the Esplanade, these fields can best be accessed by the MBTA on the red line (Charles/MGH), as well as the orange and green lines (North Station/Science Park). By foot they are best accessible via the footbridges at corner of Charles St & Cambridge St or at the bottom of Blossom St. Parking is limited, and currently the small lot accessible off of Storrow Drive is closed due to construction. Aside from this space, metered parking is available on Blossom St, Charles St, Cambridge St, and across the bridge in Cambridge (Kendall Square) within walking distance. If carpooling, the Mass Eye & Ear lot offers affordable Saturday rates.
